 | How is mental health or depression treated in Malaysia? Is it considered an illness or is it a possession of the devil? Is there a stigma attached to ayone with depression and can that person be accepted into the society to lead a normal life? Is there any public health care? |
 |
| Mental diseases are usually treated by a Consultant Psychiatrist, usually on an outpatient basis.
Depression is common in the population. It is only regarded as an illness if a person finds that he or she cannot cope with it and therefore needs to seek professional help.
There is no stigma attached to a person suffering from clinical depression because it is a common condition seen in many people.
With depression under control by the use of drugs and psychotherapy, a person can lead a normal life.

 | Recently there has been a lot of talk about bioterrorist attacks. Can you give me some examples of what can/may happen and how to avoid such infections? |
 |
| Some biological organisms that can be used for terrorist attacks are anthrax, smallpox, typhus and meningitis.
Avoidance depends on the mote of infection. If the organism is spread through the air such as anthrax, then wearing a mask with a bacertial filter may help.
