BEDWETTING (NOCTURNAL ENURESIS)
Dealing with bed wetters requires a lot of patience. Parents must remember that all bedwetting is manageable. If the cause is not due to physical that requires medical or surgical intervention it is good to remember that 'time is a great healer'.
FAT IN AN INSTANT BY EATING INSTANT FAT!
I cannot imagine life in Malaysia without instant noodles. Can you think of anyone who does not eat instant noodles? I can't. Did you know that instant noodles are full of fat and salt. This could do damage to children's health. This was noted in a report that was recently published by the Australian Consumer's Association published in the South China Morning Post recently.
ATTENTION DEFICIT IN CHILDREN AND IN ADULTS
"My son is hyperactive, he is always into something! He drives me up the wall!" is common complaint of many mothers of preschool or primary school kids. Is this so-called "hyperactive" a normal phase of a child's life? Or is it indicative of some disorder such as Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD)?
CHILDREN'S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
It’s easier to measure the physical well-being of a child than his psychological or emotional well-being. There are weight and height charts for us parents to gauge how our child fare compared to the average child. There are milestones of development indicating that our child is more or less on track.

My daughter is 7 years old and I am concerned that she is reaching puberty too early. Already, she has problems with sweating and pubic hair is starting to grow. Is this too early or am I just being paranoid?
I would agree that your daughter is reaching puberty quite arly. It would be advisable for you to bring her to see a Paediatrician for a medical check-up and even some investigations. At present, most girls are reaching puberty around 10 - 11 years old.

My son who is 6 years old is asthmatic for the last 4 years. He has a running nose almost everyday, especially in the morning. If he starts coughing, it can grow into a breathing problem. The medication helps only temporarily. I am taking utmost care to see that he gets medicines whenever required. I want to know, how long will this continue? It will be too bad for all of us if it goes on and on.
In some cases, asthmatic attacks get less frequent as the child gets older and even disappear. It is advisable that your child might like to engage in some exercise such as swimming which is good for expansion and functioning of the lungs. If he or she likes to play with balloons, blowing up balloons is also good.

My child aged 20 months is very active. He often knocks his head due to being so active. Could this affect the brain? He doesn't show any signs of bleeding etc.
It is not uncommon for toddlers at this age to fall down. However, as long as there is no external bleeding, drowsiness, vomiting or signs of head injury then I think there should not be a problem.

However, if you are concerned that your child may be hyperactive then it would be advisable to consult a Paediatrician for further investigations and management.
