I had given birth to a baby in August. I breastfed her until end October. But until now (December), my period is has not arrived. Is it normal?
It is quite normal for a woman not to have a period while breastfeeding her baby. Normally, the period should come after she has stopped breastfeeding within a couple of months. But sometimes the period might not come especially if she is still lactating (producing milk).

I had genital herpes (HSV2) a few years back and it recurrs sometimes. I am very worried and depressed as regards becoming pregnant.

1. Is it possible that if we have sexual intercourse, my husband will not be infected? If he is prone to infection, how can we reduce the possibility of cross infection?

2. Are there any risks if I were to get pregnant ? Could the baby be infected?

3.If pregnant, can I have normal vaginal delivery or must it be a Caesarean Section?
1. There is a possibility that your husband will get infected if you have unprotected sexual intercourse. One of the ways to reduce the risk is to use a condom during sexual intercourse.

2. If you are pregnant and there is no manifestation of the disease, e.g. ulcertaions, the baby will not be affected. Herpetic ulcerations in the vulva and vagina can be passed to the baby as it proceeds through the vagina during vaginal delivery.

3. If there are no ulcerations in the vulva or vagina, you can have a normal vaginal delivery. However, if there is any suspicion of any ulceration, then Caesarean Section is recommended.

I have been having normal periods, each month with no menstrual pains. My periods normally last approximately 7 days. For the past 3 months, my period came timely but lasted for only a day. I thought this could be due to stress, but this month my period, which was due last week, did not come at all. I am married and I am very sure that I am not pregnant. I plan to see a gynaecologist soon. Are there any issues that I should be worried about?
Based on your abstract, your irregular periods could be due to stress or psychological factors causing hormonal imbalance. You must exclude pregnancy every time you missed a period. It is advisible for you to see a gynaecologist.

It seems that everytime I have sexual intercourse with my husband, my vagina seems to be very dry. In the beginning, it seems quite wet but with foreplay, it tends to get dry. I am rather worried as I do not seem to be pleasing my husband as well as myself. Is there any solution to this problem? I feel very sad.
The use of a lubricant e.g. water-based jelly like KY Jelly would be helpful. This jelly is applied over the penis or vaginal area just before penetration.
