 | 1. Do you know of any Hospital in Penang that has treatment for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder?
2. Which Hospital can provide Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and (SSRI) in Penang?
3. Can you recommend any renowned Doctor in Malaysia in this field? |
 |
| Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a psychiatric disorder which is best dealt with by a Consultant Psychiatrist. Most of the Private Hospitals and the Penang General Hospital would have a Consultant Psychiatrist on their Medical Staff.
Cognitive behaviour therapy is usually conducted by a Clinical Psychologist or a Consultant Psychiatrist. I will also send your enquiry on to a Consultant Psychiatrist here in Kuala Lumpur who hopefully will be able to refer you to a Consultant Psychiatrist in Penang.

 | Can Ganoderma and Ganocelia, also known as Lezhi in China and Reishi in Japan, control and eventually reduce the growth of Cancer cells? Does a cancer patient need to consult a Medical Practitioner before taking such supplements? Are there any side effects? Can these supplements cure Cancer? |
 |
| There are no reliable, objective scientific studies to show that the Alternative Medications that you have mentioned are able to control or reduce the growth of cancer cells.
It is advisable for a person suffering from cancer to see a Medical Doctor for thorough investigations to be carried out and to plan a course of treatment, if the cancer is treatable.

 | I am from Kuala Lumpur. I have been experiencing very irregular bowel movements (constipation) four about 5 years. When I go to the toilet, most of the time I feel as though my bowel movement is incomplete. Due to this problem, my abdomen is also bloated.
Recently, I read some articles regarding colon hydrotherapy. I feel that this method of treatment could help with my problem. Could you please recommend a place where I can go in Kuala Lumpur for this treatment. |
 |
| I would recommend that you consult your family physician for a check up to make certain that there is no underlying physical cause for your problem. If nothing is found then it is up to you if you want to consult a colon hydrotherapist.

 | Do probiotics help with endometriosis?
What other natural alterantives are there to deal with endometriosis? |
 |
| Probiotics is mainly recommended for digestive health and to help strengthen the immune system.
Certain herbs such as Black cohosh, Thuja, Poke root and Chaste tree are commonly used in the treatment of female problems like endometriosis. Should there be any sign of poor liver function, liver herbs like Milk Thistle, Dandelion and Bupleurum are sometimes prescribed. This is crucial as the liver helps to detoxify excessive hormones which may link to the problem.
As endometriosis can be complicated sometimes and it is important to use the right herbs with the right dosage, please consult a herbalist and the patient should be under the care of a herbalist if herbal medicine is their choice of treatment.
