I would like to know if islet-cells transplant treatment for Type I Diabetes is available in Malaysia or Singapore. My relative, aged 20 years, is suffering from Type I Diabetes. I read about islet-cells transplant treatment recently. It certainly seems to be good news and I am wondering if this treatment is available yet in either Singapore or Malaysia. Kindly advise. Where can I find out more about this treatment?
This form of treatment is still experimental and is is not an established form of trreatment for Diabetes Mellitus. You can obtain more information from the Malaysian Diabetic Association.
